Architip is implementing the following as examples of exciting new augmented reality (AR) experiences that visitors to heritage sites can expect:
AR of buildings and structures: Virtual 3D reconstruction and presentation of structures, buildings and monuments on top of real-time camera view (both indoors and outdoors) leveraging Architip’s patent-pending AR algorithms.
AR of archaeological exhibits: Real-time virtual reconstruction of exhibits such as ancient text translations, virtual ancient art restoration and “virtual enrichment” of historical sites with 3D animation and more.
AR of spatial data: Virtual presentation of historical, geographical or touristic data on real-time panoramic camera views of the current heritage site landscapes.
Virtual “Signage”: Presentation of enriching text, audio or video information presented through AR using existing signage.
Sharing: Integration of pictures of visitors with virtual reconstructions, and the sharing of this media through standard social networking platforms.
